Miller Has Returned A Better All-Round Player

20 March 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has said that he is ‘not surprised’ that Shaun Miller has returned to his hometown club a better player. Miller is currently on loan from Carlisle United until the end of the season and his return to South Cheshire has seen him score three goals in eight starts. He has also been denied even more goals by some top drawer goalkeeping in recent games!

Miller, 30, originally left Crewe in 2012 and he went on to play for Sheffield United, Coventry City and Morecambe before signing for his current club Carlisle in the summer of 2016.

Artell told crewealex.net: “Shaun has come back and he is doing his job well. His job is to create and score goals and he has been doing that for us. I am not surprised at all because he is a good player. You don’t play for Sheffield United and Coventry in a higher league than this, if you are not.

“He has been schooled here but he has been able to go out and gain even more experience. It has made him a better player. He is a better all-round player than he was first time round. He has become more reliable in the final third of the pitch.

The boss added: “He want him to continue to be effective for us. He is 30 now and seasoned professional. He is more accomplished if you like and he is doing a really good job for the team.”
