Kirk Is Really Beginning To Apply Himself

13 March 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell believes that Charlie Kirk is beginning to realise his great potential. The Academy graduate came off the bench on Saturday to head home a dramatic equaliser at Stevenage and Artell is hoping that the talented forward will continue to have a major impact on games.

The club have always had high hopes for Kirk and now the 20-year-old is developing into a potential game changer for us.  The Middlewich based youngster has now amassed 60 first-team appearances in all competitions.

Artell told crewealex.net: “Charlie is a very talented boy. He has great skill and we knew the potential he had from a young age. He has been developed here and now he is beginning to realise that potential.

“He can improve. He can still make the wrong decisions and he has to apply his skill in the right areas to be more effective but he is learning all the time and he is getting there.

“Everyone was delighted for him on Saturday. We have been working hard with him to make sure he gets into the opposition box more because we know he is capable of creating and scoring goals. He has shown that all the way through.”
