Club Hope Dagnall Withdrawal Was Only Precautionary Measure

14 March 2018

Crewe Alexandra are hoping that a decision to take off Chris Dagnall with 15minutes left of our Under-23 match against Birmingham City yesterday was only a precautionary measure.

The striker, who has only recently returned from a knee injury came off in our 1-0 win over the Blues at the Alexandra Stadium yesterday.

It left Alex Morris’ side with ten men for the closing stages but with Birmingham also experiencing a late injury of their own, both sides finished the game with reduced numbers.

Dagnall, who has scored seven goals this season, made his return to competitive action in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Stevenage when replacing Jordan Bowery with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Meanwhile, James Jones completed his first 60 minutes of football this season and he has suffered no reaction to his own knee injury.
