Crewe Alexandra are hopeful on receiving a boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Newport County.
Defenders Zoumana Bakayogo and Jamie Sterry, as well as striker Shaun Miller all missed last night’s 3-1 home win over Forest Green Rovers with niggling injuries, but boss David Artell is hoping to have them available for the weekend.
It is hoped that last night’s re-arranged fixture against Forest Green just came a little quickly in time for them to shake off their knocks from the Coventry game.
David Artell told the club’s official website: “They are injured and we couldn’t risk them. They have niggles and knocks from the weekend and with those type of injuries it is hard to tell how long they may be out for.
“It could be a matter of days, it could be a week, it could be ten days. We will have to wait and see.
“As I’ve always said, if a player is injured then they are not use to me. When they are fit again, we consider them for selection. Hopefully, that will be the case again for the weekend and they can be involved. “
