Bowery Hoping To Keep Goal Streak Going

23 March 2018

The in-form Jordan Bowery is hoping to continue his goalscoring streak at Newport County this weekend. The Nottingham-born striker has notched five goals in his last four games to help ease our relegation fears and he reached double figures for the season with a brace against Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Bowery is expecting another tough encounter at Newport though and says that the pitch can be a great leveller.

Jordan told the club’s official website: “It is nice to score goals and to reach double figures for the season but no matter how many goals I score the main thing is the team. We need to get points and that is what we will aim to do this weekend.

“It will be another tough game at Newport but we have to go down there with the same determination we showed at Lincoln. No-one gave us much of a chance that day but we went there and turned them over, scoring four goals.

“We have to be positive and determined and look to get the three points.”
