David Artell feels that his Crewe Alexandra side are heading in the right direction after picking up a couple of wins against Colchester United and Lincoln City, but he knows that if those fine margins had gone for us, we could have been celebrating four wins on the bounce after good performances against Accrington and Exeter. Although we performed admirably in those two games, we were narrowly beaten.
Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Stevenage, Artell told the club’s official website: “I do believe we are heading in the right direction. We have improved in recent weeks and produced one of our best performances at Lincoln.
“Do I think we have should have had more points from the last five games? then I would say yes. We could have had won all five of them if we had the rub of the green.
He added: “I know that if the players do their jobs then we have a great chance against anyone in this division. I know they have the ability to compete against the best teams and when we have this season, we have got some decent results to go with it.”
