Boss: "I Wouldn't Want To Be Facing Jordan"

23 March 2018

David Artell has told the club’s official website that he would not like to be facing the in-form Jordan Bowery.

The Crewe Alexandra striker has scored five goals in his last four games to take his personal tally to double figures for the season and Artell is hoping that he will continue to be a nuisance to opposition defences.

Ahead of this weekend’s away fixture at Newport, the Crewe boss said: “I always look at the strikers and say would I want to be facing this player at the moment? I’ve faced players like Jordan during my career as a centre-half and you know you have been in a game.

“I look at Jordan and think he could beat you in the air, he could definitely run past you and he could physically hurt you. When you add all that up, you have a player on your hands.

“He is in a good run of form and has been for a number of weeks now. It hasn’t just been about his goals either. He works tirelessly for the team and long may his form continue.”
