Boss Hails Hard Working McKirdy

27 March 2018

David Artell has described the all-action Harry McKirdy as ‘one of those nuisance forwards, who gets under the feet of centre-halves’.

McKirdy scored a splendid solo goal to give Crewe the lead at Newport County on Saturday and Artell says that he was no overly surprised to see the on-loan Aston Villa starlet produce that moment of sublime skill to score.

McKirdy flicked the ball over a defender’s head before calmly slotting home his second goal of his loan spell.

Ahead of our double header at Easter, Artell told us: “Harry is a good player and he is a very good finisher. He is an all-action type of forward and works his socks off for the team.

“He is one of those annoying, nuisance types of a forward, who as a defender would get around your feet!

“He has a lot of ability to go with that work ethic and he is dangerous in and around the opposition penalty area. He took his goal really, really well at Newport and he is doing fine for us.”
