David Artell believes that securing back-to-back victories over Forest Green Rovers and Newport County had been coming for a few weeks. The Crewe Alexandra boss was pleased that the club finally got to back-to-back wins for the first time since August and he is now hoping to take that recent form into the Easter period and our double header against Barnet and Port Vale.
Crewe moved to 43 points with a 2-1 win at Rodney Parade last weekend.
Artell told crewealex.net: “I felt that back-to-back wins was coming. I think our form has been good and we gave it a good go at Stevenage but didn’t quite manage it then but we have been playing well for a while and it was nice to see the performances rewarded with the points.
“Achieving back-to-back wins was long overdue but we were good for the two victories. The aim is to now to try and beat last season’s points total.
“We want to build as much momentum as we can for next season. It is like when a promoted team starts the new season, they have the habit of winning and that is what we want to create.”
