Kenny Lunt says it is imperative that we carry the momentum we managed to build up in the last few months of the season.
The club’s assistant manager wants to see more consistency to see us challenging at the right end of the League table.
He told the press today: “We need to be more consistent and take what we achieved at the end of the season into the new season.
“We finished the season strongly and we were right there up in the form guide. It would be nice to keep that run going at the beginning of the season and get some early points on the board.
“When we went to Newport, we were talking to their staff afterwards and they were saying that they were determined to take their form from the previous end of the season into the new one. They managed to do that and they had a good start. It set them up and they finished well away from trouble.
“There are a lot factors to consider like injures and form but if we can find that consistency then there is no reason why we cannot be challenging at the right end.
“I see the players every day in training and work with them so I know what they are capable of.”
