Academy graduate aiming for more minutes and more goals at first-team level this coming season.
Crewe Alexandra youngster Lewis Reilly says that there is no better feeling than scoring goals and the 18-year-old forward is determined to do just that more often for the first-team. Reilly made an instant impact at first-team level last season when scoring twice against neighbours Port Vale on his full debut in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Reilly made nine appearances in his debut season for the club but he is yet to get off the mark in a league game and that is something he will be aiming to rectify as soon as possible.
He told the club’s official website: “There is no better feeling than scoring goals and that is my job. I want to do it more often for the first-team next season and score goals in the league.
“I’ve had a real taste of it last year and it was nice to score two goals on my full debut against Port Vale but I want more of that. I want more minutes on the pitch and I want to come back stronger and really challenge for a place in the squad and then the team.
“I know I have to do well in pre-season and for the Under-23s. If you do well for the Under-23s then the manager is always willing to give you a chance and that is all you can ask.”
