Porter: "We Have A Good A Forward Line As Any In League Two"

12 June 2018

Forward Chris Porter believes that Crewe Alexandra have one of the finest strike forces in League Two. The veteran forward who hit 12 goals last season says that with the addition of Shaun Miller on a permanent basis, the Railwaymen are well equipped to challenge at the right end of the table.

Along with the club’s leading scorer last season, Jordan Bowery, emerging youngster Lewis Reilly and wingers Charlie Kirk and Callum Ainley, Porter feels that we have enough goal threat in the squad to challenge.

He said: “I don’t think there will be too many teams in League Two who will have the type of strike force we have. We have lost Daggers but have signed Shaun (Miller) and he has scored goals throughout his career.

“With the forwards we have there is no reason why we cannot score the goals we will need to push us in the right direction.

“We have different types of forward players and that is a good thing. The competition for places will be good and hopefully the manager will have a selection headache on the first day of the season. We all want that shirt for the first game of the season.”
