David Artell has told the club’s official website that he remains calm over his recruitment drive this summer. The Alex boss added the experienced Paul Green and Shaun Miller to his squad following their successful loan spells during the second half of last season and he crucially secured the futures of Callum Ainley, Tom Lowery, Harry Pickering, Lewis Reilly, Charlie Kirk, Owen Dale and James Jones on new contracts.
The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “Firstly there has not been a massive turnaround and we signed the players we wanted very early. We still want a few more in and have various lists, be it on loan or permanent deals.
“If something comes up that we fancy then we will move but I am calm. We are in a good position with the numbers we already have in the squad and where we are.
He added: “We are not chasing our tail and having to sign 7,8, 9 players to make the numbers up. We can be patient and wait for the right ones. It puts up in a stronger position because we are desperate. It gives us more choices and the players coming in will have to come here for the right reasons.”
