Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager stresses that the club are still searching for reinforcements at full-back but that it may prove tricky to find ones better than our own youngsters Perry Ng and Harry Pickering.
Lunt says that the club would like to utilise the versatility of Ng and Pickering but he admits that they may well start the season in the full-back positions.
Lunt told the club’s official website: “We see Harry playing further up the pitch at some point, and Perry playing in the middle of the pitch at some point, but it’s going to be very difficult to get full-backs in who are as good as them, or better.
“We want to play our younger players, but we want someone to come in, push them, give them competition.
“Then they can push other players in other positions, because having competition is always good.
“We will keep looking to find the right ones to do that.
Ken added: “Hopefully we’ll get them in, whether loan or permanent, it’s where we are a bit short.”
