David Artell will make a decision on his main trialist Nick Hunt later today. The Crewe boss has informed the club’s official website that he will hold talks with the former Bolton Wanderers defender after using him in our opening pre-season games.
Hunt is a free agent after his contract at Notts County was not renewed and Artell used the latest pre-season friendly game at AFC Barrow to play him at left-back.
Artell admits that the greater height of Hunt would offer something different in one of the full-back roles.
David told crewealex.net: I will speak with Nicky later today. We will have a chat this afternoon.
“He is a god pro and would give us something different. He wouldn’t get done for height at the far post and his experience means he knows the position. He wouldn’t be caught out of position I wouldn’t have thought.”
