Crewe Alexandra FC have been drawn into Northern Group D for the 2018/19 Checkatrade Trophy with Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers & Manchester City Under 21's.
The Shrews reached the final of last year's competition before eventually losing out to Lincoln City. Manchester City were knocked out in the group stage last year, as were Crewe, & this will be Tranmere's first entry into the competitions new format.
