Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell admits he would be happy with his squad if the season kicked off tomorrow, but he still wants at least one more full-back to cover all eventualities.

Artell has already signed three new players on permanent deals with the Barnet striker Alex Nicholls the last one to arrive last week. The Crewe boss has also encouraged the large contingent of our younger players to commit their futures to the Football Club.

David admitted to crewealex.net: “If we can get through the pre-season injury free and have virtually everyone fit and available then I would be quite happy with what we have. We would be okay to start the season but I want at least another full-back.

“That is the area we have been looking and we are making progress with that. Nicky (Hunt) is certainly a contender and we will make a decision on him soon.”
