Crewe Alexandra Football Club have agreed a deal with Peterborough United for the permanent transfer of winger George Cooper for an undisclosed fee.
Cooper, 21, has signed a three-and-a-half deal at London Road and is available for their home clash with Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
Coops is the latest graduate to earn a move after progressing through the Crewe academy, making his professional debut in September 2014 as a 17-year-old.
He made 25 appearances during that debut season, scoring three goals, with an EFL LFE Apprentice of the Year for League One award coming at the climax of his whirlwind introduction to the senior game.
After that breakthrough 2014/15 campaign, Cooper has continued to feature regularly over the past three seasons, racking up a total of 142 Alex appearances, netting 15 goals (free video below) and providing endless assists.
He is the leading assist-maker in League Two so far in 2017/18 with nine, two more than Drey Wright of Colchester and Matty Taylor at Swindon who both have seven.
Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to wish George well for his future career at Peterborough.
Manager Dave Artell is now set to ramp up the drive for January reinforcements, with a number of targets on his radar.
