Jo Maher returns to Crewe Alexandra to assist on mental side of the game.

Renowned sports psychologist, Jo Maher, has returned to work with Crewe Alexandra.

Maher, who worked in a similar capacity with David Artell and his staff last season, will now be open to speak with those players who believe they will benefit from open and frank discussions.

Artell has always reiterated the need to improve the mentality of his players and he believes that his players now have the opportunity to work with one of the best in the country.

David told the club’s official website:  “Jo is excellent and one of the best in the business. We are pleased to have her back with us.

“Last season, she worked with me and the staff to make sure that we said the right things, the right way to the players. We worked on that.

“This time, the players will have a chance to speak with her if they so wish. It is all about them having that openness and honesty, to make sure there are no barriers put in place.

“We are all in this together and we are going to be a success then we will succeed together. We try and offer our players all the help we can and Jo comes in that because that is her specialist field. The opportunity is there for the players and it is up to them.”
