Place Up For Grabs As Ng Serves Four-Game Ban

8 January 2018

Crewe Alexandra return to action this weekend away at Carlisle United and boss David Artell will have to adjust his back four following the suspension of Perry Ng. The versatile defender is serving a four match ban after he was punished on video evidence following a clash with Cambridge United striker Jabo Ibehre towards the end of our 3-1 defeat at the Abbey Stadium.

Artell will use this week to assess who will be Ng’s replacement at right-back following his untimely suspension.

David told the club’s official website:  “I don’t know if their lad provoked Perry or the other way round but you cannot do what he did on a football pitch. You cannot kick out at someone and expect to get away with it.

“He has to play close to the edge to get the best out of himself but he has to know where the line is. Perry has now missed five games through ill-discipline and that is too many. Managers want their players’ available, not missing games through suspension.

“He will now have to serve his punishment for that and Perry knows that he has to control that aggression better. I am sure he will learn from it. “
