Miller: "I Jumped At The Chance To Come Back"

26 January 2018

Shaun Miller is delighted to be back at the club where it all started for him as an Academy player and the now vastly experienced striker is determined to help Crewe Alexandra move up the table.

Miller, 30, has joined us on loan from Carlisle United until the end of the season and he is set to make his second debut for the club at Swindon Town tomorrow.

Miller told the club’s official website: “It is nice to be back and it is a shame that we couldn’t quite get it done last week but it is done now and I cannot wait to get going. I am looking forward to the challenge here.

“I have been away for six years nearly and have gained a lot of experience. I have travelled around a bit and played for a few different teams and I have learned things like game management, so hopefully I can come back here and help the younger players in our team a bit as well.

“When I knew that Dave (Artell) and the club wanted me back I jumped at the chance. I wasn’t getting the opportunities I would have liked at Carlisle and didn’t want to sit on the bench, so this is a great opportunity for me.

“I played with Dave and Kenny and know what they are about and how they like their teams to play. They know the club and I know it will suit me. Hopefully, I can come here and do well and score some goals to help the team.

Shaun added: “In this league I don’t think there is much between the teams and there is nothing in the games. Hopefully if I get some chances I can stick them away and make sure it is Crewe winning those tight games instead of losing them by the odd goal.”
