Lunt: "Players Should Thrive Playing In Front Of Big Crowd"

31 January 2018

Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that the Alex players should thrive when playing in front of a bumper crowd at Notts County on Saturday.

The Crewe assistant manager, who himself went on to play for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, says that players are in the game to play in front of huge crowds.

Notts County’s offer of cheaper tickets for Saturday’s clash at Meadow Lane has the game fast approaching a sell-out and Lunt says it is one to look forward to.

Kenny told us: “It should be a great occasion on Saturday with a big crowd inside a nice stadium. It is what you are in the game for. If you don’t want to be playing in games like that then you shouldn’t be in the game.

“When it’s a huge crowd like that, you should really want to get on the ball and show everyone what a good player you are. It is the time to stand up and be counted and enjoy the occasion.

“We won at Portsmouth last season in front of an expectant home crowd and there is no reason why we cannot do the same on Saturday. We have already beaten them at home this season and we know what to expect, so we should go there with no fear and try and get the points.”
