Paul Green says that having the opportunity to gain some game time at Crewe Alexandra was too good an opportunity to turn down. The 34-year-old midfielder has joined us on loan from Oldham until the end of the season and will add some vital experience to our young midfield.
The former Republic of Ireland International says that ‘he is excited’ to be joining Crewe Alexandra for the business end of the season.
Paul told the club’s official website: “I haven’t played as many games as I would have liked at Oldham this season, so to have the opportunity to come out and play some games was perfect for me.
“I am excited and looking forward to it. I know some of the lads here and everyone has been very welcoming. I just can’t wait to get going now and help the team.
“I am at the stage of my career where I just want to be playing football. I don’t want to be sat on the bench and I look at my age as just as number. I feel fit and I look after myself, so I just want to play as much as I can.
“I think Crewe are in a false position in the league. I have spoken to a few of the lads and they were telling me about the start they had made to the season and the football they have played at times.
He added: “That is one of the reasons why I came here. Crewe are renowned for playing football and I like to get on the ball and play. I’m sure if we can get back-to-back wins we will shoot up the league and there is a nice blend of youth and experience here.”
