Club Hoping Richards & Raynes Will Be Okay For Weekend

30 January 2018

Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt, says that the club will assess the fitness levels of goalkeeper David  Richards and defender Michael Raynes after both were forced off with injuries at Swindon. Richards suffered a calf injury in the second half and had to be replaced by Ben Garratt.

Raynes injured his shoulder late on in our disappointing 4-3 defeat and had to leave the pitch in stoppage time.

Kenny told the club’s official website: “Both players got knocks on Saturday and they have not been able to train this week. We are hoping that they will be able to train at the back end of the week and make themselves available for selection.

“We have lost some experienced players through injury of late with Chris Porter and Chris Dagnall ruled out and Raynes is also in that category. We need as many players as possible and once we know who is fit and available and who isn’t, we will select a side that we think is capable of getting a win on Saturday.”
