Boss: "We Know Swindon Are No Mugs"

26 January 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell is an admirer of David Flitcroft’s Swindon Town side, but he believes that although it will be a tough assignment at the County Ground, there is no reason why we cannot get a positive result to end our run of two successive losses.

A new-look Crewe will be looking to avenge a 3-0 defeat by the Robins just before Christmas and Artell knows that his side will be up against a tough and effective opponent.

Ahead of our trip to Wiltshire this weekend, Artell told us: “Swindon are a good team and they still have a very good chance of being promoted. They were in the league above last season and have good players. We know that.

“Swindon and their manager (David Flitcroft) are no mugs. They are a good side and they can mix it with the best. They like to play but they can also provide a strong threat from a set piece as well.

“We know we are going to be up against a decent side but there is no reason why we cannot go there and win the game. They have had some indifferent results at home this season, but they have won the last two at home and we will have to work our socks off to get a result.

“We have enough talent and quality to get a result and we have to have the belief and confidence to put on a good performance.”
