Daniel Barlaser is hoping to make a positive impact during his loan spell with Crewe Alexandra. The Newcastle United youngster has signed on loan until the end of the season and he made his debut as a second half substitute against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. The youngster replaced Charlie Kirk late on in our 3-2 defeat and he looked incredibly comfortable in possession.
Daniel told iFollow The Alex: “I played for Newcastle’s 23s on the Thursday and the gaffer came on and asked if I wanted to come to Crewe on loan. He told me that I would be involved on Saturday and I was delighted to get on. My family were all there so it was really good to get on the pitch. It was really nice but the result didn’t go for us.
“I thought that we played the better football and that we were just a bit sloppy with some of the goals we conceded. I thought we played all the football and were unfortunate to lose the game late on.
“I’ve settled in really well. The lads and staff have been great with me and I will be moving with Trig (Dave Richards) soon.
“This is my first loan and I am ready for the challenge. I knew Crewe gave young players a chance, so when I heard they were interested in taking me I jumped at the chance really. I want to come here and get some game time and kick start my career. It is a great opportunity for me.
He added: “I want to do as well as I can and help the team. I am a midfield player but I am attack minded. I like to pick passes and chip in with goals as well. Fitness wise and technique wise, I think I will be fine. I know the physical aspect will be different from Under-23s football but I would imagine they are not all built like Akinfenwa! “
