Attention Switches To Forward Following Injury Set-Backs

23 January 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is still actively seeking new loan players during the January. The Alex boss has lost George Cooper to Peterborough but has been able to bring three new players in on loan.

Due to the latest injuries to experienced strikers, Chris Dagnall and Chris Porter, the attention has switched to getting another forward player into the Football Club before the end of the month.

Artell told the club’s official website: “We are still active and we are still looking. We will be watching players again this week and doing the work. We will have to see what comes up and what develops.

“I said ahead of the window opening that we will have more of an ideal of what we will need in mid-January. The injuries to Chris Porter and Chris Dagnall has altered our thinking. When you lose your captain and leading scorer for a number of weeks, it is important that you do all you can to bring another one in, preferably one with experience.”
