Artell: "Shaun Ticks A Number Of Boxes"

26 January 2018

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says that his latest loan signing Shaun Miller ‘ticks all the right boxes’. Miller has re-joined his local club until the end of the season from Carlisle United and will be hoping to make his ‘second debut’ against Swindon Town this weekend.

On signing the experienced striker, Artell told the club’s official website: “Shaun wanted to come out and play some games and he ticks a lot of boxes. He knows the level, he is a goalscorer and a good footballer.

“He also knows what this football club is all about and he wants to be here. He has been around the block and has played for some big clubs because good players are signed by those bigger clubs. That is what happens and it shows what a good player he is.

“Shaun had a great upbringing here and now he has travelled around the country a bit more and seen the other side of things as well. We are hoping that he can bring that experience back here and help our younger ones. Sometimes our Academy players do not know how lucky they are until they leave.

“We are hoping that Shaun will come here and score some goals. It isn’t all about Shaun and we don’t want to heap too much pressure on him because it is a collective responsibility.

He added: “We are hoping that Carlisle’s loss will be our gain.”
