Artell Prepares For Swindon Test

24 January 2018

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side are more than capable of getting a positive result at Swindon Town this weekend.

The Alex will be looking to bounce back quickly from back-to-back defeats to Carlisle United and Wycombe Wanderers by picking up something at the County Ground this weekend.

Crewe lost 3-0 to David Flitcroft’s side just before Christmas, but Artell rightly says that Swindon’s away form has been more impressive than the home form this season.

Ahead of our trip to Wiltshire this Saturday, Artell said: “Swindon’s home record is not as impressive as their away record, so why cannot we go there and get a positive result? We can beat them and will going there with confidence.

“We still have a strong belief and good enough players to get a result. They have the financial backing and have a good chance of getting promoted through the play-offs this season. They spent some money in the summer and it took a bit of time and they recently signed Marc Richards on loan from Northampton, so we know they are a good side.

“They are a big club for the division and will be in the mix come the end of the season but we need the points and we will be going there looking to get them.”
