Artell Aims For Better Consistent Levels In 2018

5 January 2018

David Artell, the Crewe Alexandra manager, is hoping that his side can build on their improvement in results over the festive period and get a positive result at Carlisle United on 13th January.

Crewe do not have a fixture this weekend due to Exeter City’s continued involvement in the FA Cup. Our home fixture against the Grecians has been re-arranged for Tuesday 20th February.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “We had a good August and up until December our form has been what I describe as consistently inconsistent.

“We have had a decent festive period and we have won three games out of the last five. The sequence has been win, lose, win, lose, win so I am hoping this weekend’s phantom fixture against Exeter means it will be a win again against Carlisle!

“We want to turn our form more into win, win, win and let me assure you that no-one here is getting carried away with nine points from our last five games. The plan is to become more consistent in 2018 and see where that takes us.

“We have had a fairly decent festive period and although three wins out of five is not exceptional, it has put us in a better position than we were before.”
