We Have To Stand Up To Yeovil's Set-Piece Threat

9 February 2018

Manager David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side have to stand up to Yeovil Town’s threat from set-pieces and the second phases from balls into our box.

The Crewe boss says that we have to avoid giving away cheap goals that can change the complexion of matches.

Ahead of the visit of Darren Way’s Glovers, Artell told the club’s official website: “We have to avoid giving any cheap goals and they do not come any cheaper than at a set-piece. They are important and can change the whole complexion of the game.

“We saw Yeovil’s game against Cambridge and there was nothing in the game, until Yeovil scored from a set piece and they went on to win the game 2-0. We have to make sure that doesn’t happen to us.

“Yeovil have some tall players, but so do we. They work hard and put a real shift in, so we will have to match them as well. If we do that and play our football then I expect us to win the game.

David added: “We will have to stand up to their threat, but it is the same every week in League Two. We can also cause them some problems at set-pieces and hopefully it would be nice to score one.”
