There Will Be Even More To Come From Our Loan Players

13 February 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has been pleased with the contribution of his new loan players, but he says there will be more to come from after they have had a number of games together.

Crewe signed five loan players during the January transfer window with right-back Jamie Sterry, midfielder Paul Green and striker Shaun Miller all starting our previous encounter against Yeovil Town. On-loan Aston Villa starlet Harry McKirdy also came on in the second half during the goalless draw with the Glovers.

Ahead of tonight’s clash with Accrington Stanley, Artell told the club’s official website: “The loan players have given us a lift and they want to do well for themselves and for the club. Everyone wants to impress and be a success and they are no different. It doesn’t matter if you are on loan, a permanent player here or one of the stewards. You want to do as well as you can.

“We have five new players and they have found their feet now. They understand better of how we want to play and what we want from them and I am sure they will get even better for us, because they are good players.

“It does take a bit of time. They have come from different clubs and some of the things may be strange to them because they won’t do it at their club or whatever. We have had a bit of time to bed them in and help them settle in and I’m sure there is more to come from them.”
