Sterry Ready For 'Home' Debut

8 February 2018

On-loan defender Adam Sterry is looking forward to making his ‘home’ debut for Crewe Alexandra if selected for the visit of fellow strugglers Yeovil Town this weekend.

The Newcastle United right-back made his debut in the 4-1 defeat at Notts County last weekend and although he was on the wrong side of a heavy loss at Meadow Lane, he still enjoyed the experience of playing in front of nearly 18,000 supporters.

Now the Newcastle-born youngster is aiming to get points on the board against the Glovers.

Jamie told iFollow The Alex: “I thought we played well in the first half last week (at Notts County) and took the lead, but we ended up giving some silly goals away and that was the difference. We have to put that right as a team and make sure we keep the ball better at times.

“I have come here to play some games because I had an injury in the last window and couldn’t go out on loan, but I’ve not really had the chances at Newcastle that I would have liked this season, so it is great to get out and play.

“I think the way Crewe play the game will be good for me. They like to pass the ball and that suits my style of play. They want to play it short and not always hit it long so hopefully I can show more of what I can do.

“There are a lot of young lads here and I am in the same situation really. I am only 22 myself and we know that we have to see out games better if we have the lead. There is still time to improve on that.”
