David Artell has told the club’s official website that the loan signing of full-back Jamie Sterry on deadline day has deepened his squad for the last few months of the season.
The Alex boss completed the deal before the deadline to take his loan signings to five players and he has been pleased with the business conducted in January.
The Crewe boss told us: “Jamie is predominately a right back and he has played for Newcastle’s first-team. He also enjoyed a loan spell at Coventry last season, so he knows what the lower leagues are all about and not just the glitz and glamour of the Premier League.
“Hopefully that first loan spell at Coventry will put him in good stead for this one. He gives us some depth in the squad on that side of the pitch and we are pleased to have him.
“He has to settle in because it is a new environment for him but I’m sure the other lads will help him with that.”
