Richards: "All The Boys Are Looking Forward To The Challenge"

1 February 2018

Goalkeeper Dave Richards believes that there is ‘more than enough’ inside the Crewe Alexandra dressing room to make sure we are not dragged into a relegation scrap.

The Welshman knows that consistency will be key in the business end of the season and the former Cardiff and Bristol City stopper is confident that we will move away from danger.

Dave told the club’s official website: “It was a tough one to take last week at Swindon. We have worked hard all week and we cannot let that sort of thing happen again. We cannot put our finger on it because it has happened a few times now. If we could then we would stop it at source.

“It is up to us to put things right. There is more than enough inside our dressing room. I am sure of that. We have some great players here and the young lads have been great for us in recent weeks. We have to get them on the ball more and let them show what they can do.”

On this weekend’s highly anticipated trip to Meadow Lane, Dave told us: “It is great support from both sides. I think we will sell out our allocation, so that is great for the lads to have that level of support behind us.

“The boys cannot wait. You want to play in front of big crowds and full houses. That is what it is about and we are all looking forward to it.

“We know what a good side Notts County are. They are going for automatic promotion but we have beaten them already this season, so we will be focussing on doing the same again at their place.”
