Porter Has Successul Ankle Surgery

5 February 2018

Crewe Alexandra’s leading goalscorer Chris Porter has undergone a successful ankle operation. The forward, who has struck 12 goals for this season is expected to be out for around six weeks after having his ankle cleaned off of any stray fragments.

Porter had been struggling with his ankle and he had an injection before the away trip to Carlisle United to ease the inflammation. He missed that game but returned for the home game against Wycombe Wanderers on 20th January.

The former Derby, Sheffield United and Colchester target man was sadly forced off in the first half against the Chairboys. Surgery was needed to rectify the wear and tear but it is hoped that the 34-year-old will return before Easter to help the cause.
