Crewe Alexandra defender Eddie Nolan's availability remains touch & go for the Colchester United match this weekend.

The Irishman missed the midweek trip to Accrington with illness & he may also be forced out of the U's contest with the same issue.

Dave Artell plans to speak to his man today & test him out in training before making a decision.

Artell said: "I believe he's come in and will train, so he could be ok.

"He's been our most consistent defender, in a positive way. He's gone about his job and done it properly, it's all you ask from a player.

"He's done well, and it would be a boost to have him back and available for selection. We'll see how he's been and make a deicision on him for tomorrow."
