Manager Dave Artell remains bewildered as to why his side are so far down the Sky Bet League Two table after putting in some sterling performances in recent weeks.

But Crewe have let themselves down with lapses of concentration in key moments of games that has seen all the hard work undone.

Artell said: “The disappointing this is that we’re still talking, six weeks later, about the position we’re in – because we’ve definitely got enough. We’ve got to start showing it.

“We shouldn’t be anywhere near the bottom of the table, and it’s extremely disappointing that we are.

“Everyone who’s been to the games knows we should have a lot more points on the board, but we haven’t, so now really is the time to start making those small margins count in our favour.

“There’s still a decent amount of games left this season for us to turn this into a positive and keep showing what we can do, but getting the results as evidence of that.”
