Boss Dave Artell was made to rue his side's missed chances after leaving Accrington Stanley empty handed despite a dominant performance.
Kayden Jackson struck the only goal of the game for the hosts moments before half-time, & Crewe created waves of chances after the break, but couldn't grab an elusive goal.
Dave said: "All second half we felt that the goal was coming.
"Chances just kept coming for us. But you've got to stick them in the net & that's the name of the game.
"It's about ruthlessness in both boxes, & although we did well defensively because they had two shots all game.
"You can't limit a side who's second in the league to two shots all game & dominate all the possession & create all the chances & still lose the game.
"There are big positives, yes, but we have to win that game."
