David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side are ready for this weekend’s home clash with Yeovil Town. The Crewe boss has been pleased with the way his players have responded in training this week and he has been further boosted with the return from suspension of Perry Ng and Zoumana Bakayogo.
Fellow defender George Ray is also back in contention after completing 120 minutes against Nantwich Town on Tuesday evening.
Artell told the club’s official website: “The players have trained well and have worked hard. That is not to say that we let them off the hook in previous sessions. We have increased the intensity of the sessions this week and the players have responded.
“Now they have to take that into Saturday afternoon. They have to be ready. We have got to be prepared for the battle side of things and we have to be prepared to be brave and play our football.
The boss added: “We have given them the clear messages and worked on things defensively because we have conceded far too many goals in the last three games. We have done the work; given them the reminders and hopefully they don’t forget them.”
