Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says that Chris Porter will do everything in his power to get back to full fitness as soon as possible after he successfully underwent  an ankle operation.

The striker, who has scored 12 goals this season has had his ankle cleaned out and is expected to be out for around six weeks.

Artell says that the experienced Porter will work his socks off to get back ahead of schedule.

Dave told the club’s official website: “Chris has had a successful operation and although it will put his rehab back for a week or 10 days, he has had his ankle cleaned up and it will be like having a brand new ankle.

“It is positive news for him and being the top professional he is, he will do everything he can to get back as quickly as he can.”
