Artell: "It Should Be A Great Atmosphere"

2 February 2018

David Artell is looking forward to his Crewe Alexandra side playing in front of a full house at Meadow Lane this weekend. The Alex will be aiming to upset the odds and inflict a third successive home defeat on Kevin Nolan’s side.

Crewe Alexandra are expected to bring almost 1,500 supporters of our own and Artell says his players should rise to the occasion in such a great atmosphere.

Artell told the club’s official website:  “It is a great gesture by Notts County and their chairman to offer the reduced ticket price. It will be a great atmosphere and it is great that we are taking 1,500 of our own fans.

“I can only thank our fans and for Notts County for allowing us to play in front of a full house. That is what we want as a player, as a manager and as a supporter. It is one to look forward to.

“The challenge is there for us and we have to rise to it. We did it earlier in the season when we beat them at home and we won at Portsmouth last season in front of a big crowd.

“We know what we have to do. We have to get the ball down and play and when we are under pressure, we have to be men, stand up to that and see it through.

“Notts County are a good side and we know we will have to play well to get a result. We did that for an hour at Swindon last week, so now we have to make sure we do it for 90 minutes.”
