Artell: "I'm A Firm Believer That We'll Be Fine"

15 February 2018

Alex boss Dave Artell remains hugely confident that his side will have more than enough to pull away from the Sky Bet League Two relegation zone.

Currently three points and one place above the two relegations places, The Alex are aiming to turn around a run of six winless games - but Dave says anyone that has studied the games will realise the team have been unfortunate not to win more points.

He said: “Anyone who has seen us in the last few games, probably with the exception of Notts County, will have said we’ll be fine.

“I’m a firm believer that we will be fine. It’s alright saying it though, we’ve got to show people. The fans have their right to say things to me because of where we are in the league, I get that.

“But anyone who actually analyses the games will know we’re more than a match for anyone in this league and we’ve got to make sure we prove it in the results as well as just in our play.

“The fans have been terrific. Last Saturday they probably got as frustrated as me though with being held to the draw.

“We don’t want them to get anxious though, because you can feel it. The fans who travelled to Accrington in midweek as well were terrific & they clapped us off at the end, because they know exactly how the game has been played.

“We’ve all got to stick together, because we’re going to need them.”
