David Artell is wary of Accrington Stanley’s attacking threat this evening but he is convinced that we are well equipped to restrict their opportunities at Wham Stadium.
Accrington produced an impressive performance to record a 2-0 win over the Railwaymen back in October and Artell knows that we will have to keep the likes of Billy Kee, Kayden Jackson and Sean McConville quiet if are to get a result.
Ahead of tonight’s clash against the club currently second behind Luton, Artell told us: “Accrington are consistent and that is why they are second in the league. They all know their jobs and they do them well.
“We know the threat they have with the likes of Kee and Jackson. They are a very good partnership at this level.
Liam Nolan, who was one of our kids, has come again from non-league and does a good job for them in midfield. They play with wingers, who like to get in the box and they are a threat. They are a good side.
“I would have thought they have probably 14, 15 players who would give anyone a game. They then have six or seven who can slot in when needed to do a job. We are very similar in that but have lost five or six players at any one time this season.”
