Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell believes that his side are now heading in the right direction after achieving back-to-back league wins for the first time this season. The Alex defeated league leaders Lincoln City on Boxing Day and followed that up with a deserved 1-0 win over Stevenage three days later.
Crewe now head to Gigg Lane to face promotion hunting Bury on New Years’ Day.
David told the club’s official website: “The mindset of the players has been very good. They have shown that they are a good team and that they are good players. They are starting to believe it and maybe it helped that Danny Cowley (Lincoln City manager) said the same thing.
“He said that the toughest game his side had faced was against us. It was against our dressing room and they are top of the league. That is how good they can be and they have to keep on replicating it.
He added: “We did that for the majority of the game against Stevenage and thoroughly deserved to win. Now we have another big test against Bury but it is up to us to do it again and make sure we remain unbeaten.”
