David Artell has blocked a potential loan move for Lewis Reilly to a Conference North Club this week as he has suggested that he could need the young forward over the busy Christmas and New Year period.

The Liverpool-born forward has recently impressed during a loan spell at Halesowen and for the club’s Development Squad.

The boss told crewealex.net: “Lewis had a chance to go out on loan to a Conference North Club this week but he isn’t going. He is staying with us.

“Is he going to start in the next four games? Probably not, but he could have a part to play. I hope so anyway and that is credit to him because he has done well out on loan and for the Under-23s.”
