David Artell says that Chris Porter’s professionalism has seen him grasp his recent chance with both hands. The 35-year-old has scored two in two games since returning to the Crewe Alexandra starting line-up and the Alex boss has been delighted with his all-round contribution since reclaiming his place over the festive period.
Porter is hoping to continue his run of goals against Bury on New Year’s Day.
Artell told Crewealex.net: “Chris has come back in and has done really well. Not just his two goals but his work ethic and how he has led the line has been top drawer.
“He is a great pro and a good bloke and we knew that he would be ready when we needed him again. He just had to wait for that opportunity. He has done his job really well in the last two games and he has to keep doing it.
“I have been pleased with him and he has had to keep it going.”
