Crewe head to Bury on New Years Day full of optimism having secured back-to-back victories at home over the Christmas period.
In order to come back with smiles from Gigg Lane, The Alex must turn around disappointing away form away from home that has seen David Artell's side record just five points from 12 games.
Despite those worrying statistics, those two victories last week over Lincoln & Stevenage have given the squad renewed optimism & they'll head to the Shakers with no fear.
Date: Tuesday 1 January 2019
Competition: Sky Bet League Two
Venue: Gigg Lane
Previous Meeting at Host Club: Bury 0-0 Crewe (Jan 2016)
Referee: Sebastian Stockbridge (P22, Y66, R1)
Crewe: David Artell takes another injury-free squad to Gigg Lane on Boxing Day as the Alex aim to make it three victories on the bounce.
The fitness levels remain to be seen though after a gruelling festive period in which changes to the starting XI have been at a minimum.
Veterans Paul Green & Chris Porter in-particular may need monitoring ahead of the clash.
Bury: Ryan Lowe may make changes to his side after they were beaten 2-1 at Mansfield on Boxing Day & held to a 0-0 draw at bottom side Notts County on Saturday.
Prior to that though, the Shakers had won five or their previous seven league games & currently sit fifth in the Sky Bet League Two table.
