Crewe Alexandra will check on the fitness of Chris Porter ahead of this weekend’s trip to Forest Green Rovers. Porter, 35, suffered a slight injury in the warm up at Exeter City and hence why he wasn’t used in our 1-0 defeat at St. James’ Park.

Porter has been sent for a precautionary scan on his knee and boss David Artell is hoping he will get the all-clear to travel to Forest Green this weekend.

Artell is hoping that the experienced forward ‘will be fine’ but youngster Lewis Reilly could come back into the frame if this weekend comes too quickly for the former Colchester and Derby striker.
