David Artell believes that Oldham Athletic’s off-field problems will not affect Frankie Bunn’s side. The Latics roll into South Cheshire tomorrow with a casting eye on breaking into the top 7 as we enter the bust festive period and Artell says that any financial issues are usually forgotten when the players cross the white line due to their professionalism.
Ahead of our home clash with the Latics, Artell told us: “I thought Oldham were a bit unlucky to be relegated last season. They were a League One side and had some very good players but it happened.
“I don’t think their off-field issues affect the players or the management staff. It can’t do. With any off field stuff you have to be put it to one side and not let it affect you. The players will be professional and get on with the job.
“There will eleven committed and motivated players representing Oldham tomorrow and we will have to match that.
The Crewe boss added: “Those off field things do not usually affect players or the staff, you get on with the job and if you need to moan about it, you do it at the right time and to the right people.”
